Retreats

Retreats offer a more in-depth immersion in the healing arts with a balance of health and wellness topics, nature walks, crafts, cooking and fun. They feature delicious and nourishing home-cooked meals, comfortable accommodations and mystical walks through fields of wildflowers in beautiful locations such as Colorados Estes Park and New Mexico's Ghost Ranch. Past retreats have focused on women's spirituality, herbal medicine making, and spa weekends. Private retreats for groups from 5-10 are surprisingly affordable. Let Susan guide your group or organization for a fun-filled weekend.

Plants, Ghosts and Adventure in the Land of Enchantment
New Mexico's Ghost Ranch
September 27 - 30, 2012

Escape to the magic and mystery of northern New Mexico's Ghost Ranch and enjoy breathtaking views and 21,000 acres of majestic wilderness. Hike the towering canyons of the Valley of the Shining Stone where Georgia O'Keefe lived and painted for 50 years. Explore the legends and uses of plants used for centuries for magical and healing purposes. Basic comfortable rooms with private baths and amazing views, ranch meals, activities and all materials included.

Your guide, Susan Evans, fell in love with Ghost Ranch 15 years ago and has been returning ever since. As a clinical herbalist she will introduce you to the medicinal and ceremonial origins of everyday plants, acquaint you with the local legends and lead you on hikes through the spectacular vistas of the area.

With two museums, gift shops, labyrinth, a bodywork program, library and incredible hiking trails you'll partake in some of the best New Mexico has to offer. Prepare to be enchanted.

Housing & Meals
Rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable with private baths and magnificent views. There is no phone or TV in your room giving you a completely uninterrupted retreat and adventure.

Meals are cafeteria style with vegetarian and non vegetarian entrees and a salad bar served with lunch and dinner with choice of indoor or outdoor dining.

Considerations: Ghost Ranch is north of Santa Fe near Abiqui, New Mexico, about a 6 hour drive from the Denver area (transportation is not included). Map and driving directions will be provided. Our Mesa rooms offer spectacular views and sit up on a mesa with several moderately steep switchback trails which lead down to the dining hall and main ranch area. Ghost Ranch is located at an altitude of 6500 feet and there is a 5 to 15 minute walk from most rooms to the dining hall, library, museums and meeting rooms. All activities are optional; hikes will be of moderate difficulty and range from 2-3 miles.
